The DiRectory

Yoyo Z.

I'm Yoyo, an eighth-grader at Rectory. I'm from Shanghai, and this is my second year in America. Reading and writing are my biggest hobbies because I find the complex emotions that language transcends fascinating. My favorite genres are YA and works from the Romantic Era. There is no perfection in writing, so I take every day as an opportunity to experiment with different structures and styles. I own a blog where I consistently post collections of anecdotes, ranging from travel experiences in about 20 countries to a rant about a newly-released movie. Besides literature, I am also into classical music, painting, science, and CrossFit.
