Captain Marvel Movie Review

Spoiler Alert: If you haven’t seen the Captain Marvel movie yet, you may not want to read this article, as it tells how the movie ended.

In March of 2019, the movie Captain Marvel was released. Captain Marvel is believed to be one of the strongest superheroes in the Marvel Universe due to her unique powers. Some of Captain Marvel’s powers include being a talented pilot and experienced soldier. She has almost Hulk-level superhuman strength, invulnerability, and the power of flight.

This movie is mainly about Captain Marvel trying to find out who she actually is and defeat the bad guys. It’s a really good movie that was shown right before the movie Avengers: Endgame came to the screen. This movie includes very impressive special effects and keeps the audience wondering how Captain Marvel is going to help in the fight against Thanos.

Last summer, the movie Avengers: Infinity War was released. At the end of the movie, Nick Fury was about to turn into dust; he used a Captain Marvel transmitter to call her for help. Many people commented online that they thought Captain Marvel was going to kill Thanos and save the world.

In the movie, Captain Marvel is brainwashed by the Kree and they tell her that they saved her life and that she is one of them. She followed the will of the Kree to kill all the Skrulls in the universe. On her neck, there was a small detector which limited her power and allowed the Kree to control her all the time. On a mission, she is sent with a few other Kree to find and kill Skrulls. However, she is captured and she is taken to a Skrull spaceship. She escapes the spaceship and lands on Earth.

On Earth, Captain Marvel slowly discovers that she was a human pilot before, and her trainer was a Kree. Her trainer knew that the Kree were killing Skrulls for no reason. So, she made a giant invisible spaceship and made it into a refuge for the Skrulls. One time, Captain Marvel decided to go with her trainer to her “lab”. On the way, they got attacked by the Kree and they crashed. Her trainer told Captain Marvel to destroy the engine of the plane, so she did. The explosion was supposed to kill Captain Marvel, but surprisingly, Captain Marvel absorbed the energy and became super powerful.

Then Captain Marvel decided to team up with a group of Skrulls, and she brought them to the secret “lab” where her trainer hid other Skrulls. The Kree found the lab and captured Captain Marvel and the Skrulls. The Kree brought Captain Marvel to their leader, but, with much effort, she had the detector removed, took control of her full powers, and saved all the Skrulls.

There are a lot of students and teachers at Rectory who also saw the movie. Here’s what they said about it:

Julia Z.: “I watched Captain Marvel during the spring break. I enjoyed the movie a lot. My favorite part in the movie was when Captain Marvel figured out her past. My favorite character is Captain Marvel. I think Captain Marvel will be the strongest superhero in the Avengers.”

Stephen C.: “I watched Captain Marvel over MELP, and I enjoyed it a lot. The part I most enjoyed in the movie was when Nick Fury got scratched by the cat because it told how Nick lost his eye. My favorite character is Nick Fury. I liked him the most because he was funny and was played by a great actor (Samuel L. Jackson). He is one of the smartest and most tactical people in the Avengers. I think that Thor will be the strongest superhero in the Endgame because he threw Stormbreaker (an enchanted axe) into Thanos’s chest and almost killed him. Then later in Endgame, he decapitated Thanos.”
